Youth Wrestling — Grades K–5

This is where it starts. Shamrock’s youth program builds wrestlers from the ground up — stance, motion, takedowns, escapes, and the discipline to keep working when things get hard.

Every session is coached by credentialed instructors with NCAA Division I and Massachusetts state championship experience. Your child isn’t learning from a volunteer dad reading a manual. They’re learning from coaches who competed at the highest levels and know how to develop young athletes the right way.

Practice runs Monday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at 120 Slades Ferry Ave in Somerset, MA. Sessions are structured: warm-up, technique instruction, partner drilling, and live wrestling. Kids stay moving for the full hour.

No prior experience required. We take first-timers and turn them into competitors. Most of our youngest wrestlers have never stepped on a mat before walking through our door.

Schedule: Monday & Thursday, 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Location: 120 Slades Ferry Ave, Somerset, MA 02726
Ages: Grades K–5 (Elementary)

Middle & High School Wrestling — Grades 6–12

Shamrock’s middle and high school program is built for athletes who want to get better — not just show up. Training is structured around the skills that win matches: chain wrestling, setups, riding, scrambles, and conditioning that lasts into the third period.

This is year-round training that supplements school-season wrestling and fills the gap when school programs aren’t in session. Athletes who train through spring and summer come back to their school teams sharper, stronger, and more confident on their feet.

Practice runs Monday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Expect a faster pace, harder drilling, and live wrestling every session. Coaches push athletes to compete at a higher level — whether that means qualifying for states, placing at New Englands, or just beating the kid who pinned you last month.

Our coaches have produced sectional champions, state qualifiers, and New England competitors. The system works if you put in the time.

Schedule: Monday & Thursday, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
Location: 120 Slades Ferry Ave, Somerset, MA 02726
Ages: Grades 6–12 (Middle & High School)

Saturday Training — All Ages

Saturday sessions run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and are open to all ages and skill levels. Format is open mat with coached drilling and live wrestling to finish.

This is the extra session that separates good wrestlers from great ones. Saturday is where athletes get extra reps, work on weak spots, and test themselves in live situations against different partners.

For families whose Monday/Thursday schedule doesn’t work every week, Saturday is also a way to stay consistent without missing a beat.

Schedule: Saturday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Why Parents Choose Shamrock

Coaching That’s Real

Our head coach is a former NCAA Division I wrestler and Massachusetts state champion. Assistant coaches bring competitive and scholastic experience at the highest levels. This isn’t rec league instruction — it’s legitimate wrestling development from coaches with real credentials.

Affordable and Simple

$100/month for unlimited training. No contracts. No signup fees. No gear packages you didn’t ask for. We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and we keep it affordable because every kid who wants to wrestle should be able to.

Discipline, Not Drama

Wrestling teaches accountability, effort, and mental toughness in ways other sports don’t. Our athletes learn to handle adversity, push through discomfort, and compete with respect. Parents see the difference at home.

Local and Convenient

Our facility at 120 Slades Ferry Ave in Somerset is right over the Braga Bridge from Fall River and minutes from Swansea, Taunton, and the East Bay of Rhode Island. Three practices a week, evening and weekend options.

A Culture That Develops Athletes

We don’t just run drills. We build wrestlers who compete with confidence, carry themselves with discipline, and earn results on the mat. From first-time youth wrestlers to varsity captains, the system works.
